The SUPERB COMBI can go up to 40 km/h when looking for a suitable parking space with Park Assist on. Once the sensors find a space large enough (i.e. length of the car + 80 cm), the system lends a hand with the parking manoeuvres.

Exiting a tight space is now easier, too. In this mode, the Park Assist manoeuvres the SUPERB COMBI back and forth until it can exit a row of parked cars.

The system finds a proper parking space between cars and performs the parking manoeuvre almost automatically. The car’s electronics control the steering wheel while the driver uses the accelerator and brake pedal.

The Park Assist semi-automatically guides the car forwards into transversal parking spaces. The system assists the driver by automatically carrying out optimal steering wheel movements to park within the lines, the driver just has to accelerate and brake.

When reverse gear is engaged, the camera in the tailgate is activated and the image is shown on the infotainment system display. Dynamic guide lines laid over the image show the direction in which the vehicle would go with the position of the steering wheel or indicate when it should be turned.

When reversing out of parking bays, Rear Traffic Alert recognises vehicles approaching from the sides. An acoustic signal warns of an impending collision. The “critical side” is shown first in yellow and then in red on the infotainment display. The brakes are applied automatically if necessary.

The “OPS 360” warns of the potential risk of collision with obstacles during parking by drawing on data from 12 ultrasound sensors, the driving parameters and the steering wheel angle.

The parking sensors assist the driver with parking and work in conjunction with all of the infotainment systems. To avoid those parking situations where you don’t brake in time in response to the distance alerts, the SUPERB incorporates Manoeuvre Assist, a feature that stops the car to avoid collision.
